Gobble Gobble...

I'd say I'm getting better at these updates. At least, I'm covering the big things, lol. So the Kenny's joined the Gale's (minues Val/Mike and Cali) in Helen, GA for Thanksgiving. It was quite wonderful. My pictures of Cara explain a lot of the trip. We wore matching aprons for Thanksgiving, but only for the pictures sake, we didn't really cook anything. Cara does NOT like Santa, alive or not. There was a fake dancing Santa, and you'll see her face, not a fan! Tina has the pictures of her attempting to sit on Santa's lap. I'll have to upload those later, so you can witness a grown woman trying not to break Santa's knee.

SOOO, our little Carebear is doing wonderful. She's growing up so much, so fast. She's responding yes and no to everything, even if she doesn't know what she's responding to. We just love her! I need to get some video up..hint hint for Christmas present ideas.

We have a play date this Saturday and I can't wait to see all the kiddies growing up. We had to cancel the last one because Cara had a fever.

I'll post more soon from her play date.

Enjoy!

The itsy, bitsy, spider....

Happy November! Important historical news to report on, the President elect is Mr. Barak Obama. Not sure if I spelled his name correctly, but anywho, regardless of people's attitude towards the decision, I think it's a wonderful time to support our country and work together. All I'll say.

On to cuter news, I have Halloween pictures!! Enjoy!

These were Val's pictures (thank you Val), but I'm waiting on my Mom's and Tina's cause they have the Spider and it's web...you'll see what I mean in a later post.

Well the Kenny's are looking forward to Thanksgiving. Carebear's a little under the weather but still in good spirits. I think daycare is a neverending cycle of runny noses and ahh choo's. She'll get through it though.

Back to work I go...

Happy Halloween Week!

This is one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves are starting to change, the weather is cool and Pumpkin pie is a prevalent commodity! Hope everyone is enjoying their Fall, thus far. Cara certainly is. She's a big kid now, a whole 1 year old, so of course, she's got new tricks up her sleeves.

1. She will give high fives, but she prefers to play "down low, too SLOW". This is where Cara reaches her hand out (usually to strangers) and they continue to give her a low five, but she pulls her hand back with an added belly laugh, causing the person to be "too slow". Not sure who taught her this, ;) .

2. She's ruined two of our three remote controls in the house with her excessive drooling, giving us the impression more teeth are coming in. Wonderful!

3. She is learning that shoes are a necessity, but unfortunately her knuckles are paying the price.

4. She only enjoys big dogs that are lazy and completely unaware of her existence, i.e. Madison. This gives her the upper hand in the relationship.

5. She's completely off of bottles and baby formula!

6. She waves backwards.

7. She can shake her head yes and no, but doesn't understand the word "no" being called to her as she opens cabinets and drawers.

8. She likes to say "Dada" to which her Dada responds "Baby". This can go on for five minutes.

9. She still makes noises that resemble demons.

10. She is obsessed with running around in the front yard. She even waits at the front door (kind of like a dog) to be let out.

Enjoy the slideshow of Cara's birthday weekend! I will be posting her Halloween costume pictures, she's gonna be so ADORABLE!

in one more day, it's cara's birthday!

Hello everyone. Sorry for the lapse of updates, I was busy getting married! One of the most amazing days of my life. My face literally hurt from smiling. I was just so happy for us, and our family, and for the support from our friends and family..it was just a magical day. Poor Care bear. The day wore her out and she zonked out for the ceremony. But do you think that stopped my kid from being apart of the party? Heck no!

Many more pictures to come on that front, I'm still waiting on the photographer's photos. She was so precious in her little peach dress.

On to more important things...

It was a year ago today I was steralizing bottles through breaks from contractions, trying to take deep breaths, and pretty much panicking because I was headed for the hospital to be induced. I literally had no clue what I was in store for. But October 11th, 2007 at 5:24 pm little Cara Nicole graced us all with her presence and changed our lives forever. And tomorrow we celebrate her first year of existance. I'm so excited. Growing up when it was our birthday's, my Mom used to sing this song. It goes like this:

"In one more day, it's Cara's Birthday,
In one more day, it's Cara's Birthday,
And on that day she will be ONE,
We're gonna have so much fun,
In one more day, it's Cara's Birthday!"

She would start it like 10 days before and change the lines depending on our age. Well, I love that song and I've been singing it to Cara all week and based on her head bobbing, I think she loves it too. We're celebrating the day on Sunday with family and friends and tomorrow I think I'm gonna take her to do some Halloween things with her Momma and Mimi. I think I'm celebrating more for myself that I made it through the first year with a new baby, lol! That year makes me want to take a nap!

Well Happy Birthday baby! Mommy loves you so much!!

It's about TIME

Finally, a media update. Our camera was being stupid and everytime I'd turn it on, the screen was all blurry and it would ruin pics and videos so I got frustrated and put it in a drawer. Well, I turned it on today and IT WORKED. The camera fairy must have fixed it. So first thing I did was videotape some walking action and some talking. Then I took two pictures. Not my best work, but at least it's something! Oh and Val got the cutest pics of Bug and Bear, those are at the end.

Enjoy!

out of sight, NOT out of mind

Happy September! I can't believe we are a month away from Cara's first birthday! I was sitting with her this morning and she was being her normal, weird self and I couldn't believe how far we've come. We just got back from visiting Meg, Ian and Mary in Cinci and seeing that little baby really brought back memories. Not so distant memories. Mary is SO beautiful! She was doing the little newborn grunt and I remember when Cara would do that and I would think "is this normal that my daughter sounds like a dying pug??". Meggy looked exhausted and that's a memory I'd like to forget! They made such a beautiful baby and I will update with pics ASAP, just waiting for me Mom to send me them.

I wanted to show you an insert I found on a website that tracks baby's milestones and such..

"'Out of sight, out of mind' no longer applies. If your child has ever enjoyed unrolling the toilet tissue that sits on the other side of the cabinet door, she'll remember the pleasure every time she passes the door."

When I read this, I was surprised they didn't just insert Cara's name. Cara LOVES, and I mean loves, unrolling the toilet paper. She loves getting into everything in the bathroom, which doesn't exclude the toilet, toilet bowl cleaner, trash can, and magazine stack. I have learned to keep the door closed and just this morning, Dada went to take a shower and she started throwing a fit she couldn't follow him in. So, Cara has absolutely hit the memory milestone. Why she doesn't remember her baby blocks being as fun as toilet paper, I don't know??!

I have begun party planning for her first birthday. I might possibly be the only person who feels the 1st birthday is a huge deal. Most opinions are "she won't even remember it"..but my opinion is, it's her 1st BIRTHDAY! 1st's are a big deal to me!! We will be having a small affair at Grandma Paula's house, and it will be an outdoor picnic, weather permitting. Gift ideas include: toilet paper, kid leash and rubber furniture.
