Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter weekend! Also, Happy 1/2 birthday to Cara (tomorrow) and Happy full Birthday to me!! Eventful weekend.

Good news, I have sent in for a new camera that doesn't melt my batteries..so pictures and updates will start pouring in soon.

So for Easter, which I will def. post pictures of, the Easter Bunny and I have put together an Elmo Easter basket for the little misses. She calls him "melmo" but as she gets better at speaking, she's kind of starting to call him the right name and it makes me a little sad! I love when she makes words her own, but I also love that she's getting smarter and learning to talk.

Funny story: I told ya'll that she's had some biting issues at school. Well as excited as I was to think she had stopped, last week I got an incident report that she bit a baby. And it makes me sad, cause it's the second time she's bit a "baby" which I'm assuming is an infant and most likely unable to protect itself. So I tell Cara "we don't bite people, we don't bite babies!". I said it a few times to let it stick right? So the next morning, Cara had slept with me cause she woke up in the middle of the night and she's waking up rolling all over the place. She finally finds my face and says "bite baby". I'm thinking great, I have persuaded her to now bite babies!! She's a little sponge who rejects the word "no". The joys of motherhood!

Well Happy Easter to everyone! We will be decorating some "melmo" eggs, going to church and enjoying the company of family and friends!

17 months...

Hello! So, we've had some changes out our way. Cara is 17 months old tomorrow! Getting bigger everyday! She started a new day care last week. So far, it's going okay. She cries everyday I leave, which breaks my heart, but the teacher says as soon as I'm gone she cheers up. She just loves her Momma LOTS! Next month she's old enough to start their music class and I'm suppppper excited to enroll her in that. I think she will love it! She drew her first official picture yesterday and it literally was 5 scribbles in the corner. The teacher said the table saw more art than the paper. She's making new friends and learning new things!

This past weekend, GA had incredibly beautiful weather, so we took the opportunity to make some park time. Cara has a slight obsession with the slides, but thankfully she has learned that you go down on your bottom, not your feet. She climbs the stairs (with assistance of whichever parent isn't tired from going up the stairs 100 times already), sits her bottom on the landing, and scoots the ten feet to the slide in exciting anticipation. Repeat.

Cara has had some issues at school with biting her schoolmates. Both Chris and I were biters, so it's just a little genetic defficiency. I hope this phase is short lived though, cause I don't want her being black balled from birthday parties as the "biter". Chris thinks this will teach the kids "not to take toys from her"..I fear she will be the daycare bully :(

I have a couple of pictures from my phone to share. One day I will find a perfect fit with a camera and be able to share our entire life in photos. Maybe Meg will get tired of hers...

Ol' Blue Eyes...

We just hit 16 months old, on Feb. 11, which was also Tina's birthday and Tina captured a couple of really cute pictures of Cara. She is SUPER fascinated with the iPhone (who's not??), and she doesn't forget that Tina owns that fancy little thing, so everytime she see's her, she goes for her purse to get the phone. Probably means we need to get an iPhone.

Her eyes are also bursting with blue in one of these pictures, and it reminded me of a little celeb baby. Guess the famous baby!

Christmas 2008 (i'm a slacker)..

I never updated Cara's blog with Christmas pictures! Cara had a wonderful Christmas as a one year old and was wayyyy more fun opening presents this year versus last year. She was majorly spoiled and got some pretty great toys, books, and clothes which I will probably take the sound advice to hide half for now, and reintroduce at a later date. We'll have quarterly Christmas'.

No Snow for the South :(

So, we might be just a tad bit jealous of Ohio and their piles of snow! But we're still enjoying the bitter cold weather of Winter. It's actually reached the 60's down here so we've had a couple park trips, and apparently Cara is the little daredevil. Papa and I took her to the playground at Roswell Park and she instantly fell in love with going down the slide like a big girl all on her own. (Mind you, the slide is prob 5 feet long..but she loves it!). She actually enjoyed doing it on her own so much as to cry everytime I'd try to help, so I get her on the top landing and slowly pull my hands off of her to let her go down the slide. She bolts (on her FEET) and runs down the slide, sending her airborn and landing her on her butt at the bottom. At this point I've already slid down the other slide, completely terrified that she just ran down a slide, and she looks up at me and smiles. Smiles like "Hey Mom, that was sooo cool". It was really just a confirming moment that I do in fact have my hands full and Cara is her father's daughter. As a child, I probably cried when I looked at a slide, cause I was scared of everything.

So we're gaining a lot of words in the vocabulary, some important, some random..

So Cara is approaching a year and a half (April) and she's really embracing life as a toddler. She enjoys dancing and putting her hands up to songs that say "put your hands up". She can drink out of a straw. She says "hi" to everyone she sees. And really, she just loves running around freely with her cup of milk in one hand and crackers in the other. I have attached some pictures of her trips to Monkey Joe's and Chuckee Cheese. Needless to say, she had a blast at both places. Enjoy!
