3 Months and Counting...

2010, so far so good! Samantha is 3 months old today. Some days it seems to go by fast, some days..not so much. Up until 2 months, if you asked me, Sammy was a quiet baby. Then something happened. We don't know what that something is..but she is a little more on the fussy side now. We are ruling out milk allergies, trying different formulas, and aren't having much luck. The fussing has subsided a bit though..so we may be on to something. It's definitely a gas issue though. We can see it all over her face when she has the fits.

Here are the stats though from our last check up, which was 1/7/10:
Height: 24 inches - 82 percentile
Weight: 12.5 lbs. - 61 percentile
Head Circumference: 16 inches - 75 percentile

I wanted to compare with Cara's but we took Sammy a little late since she got real sick around her 2 mos. appointment. But they appear to be VERY similar in size..we'll see at the 4 mos. check up. Her numbers look good though and I must say, I seem to do an excellent job with height production. Maybe all my defective growth particles are filtering out via my children.

Cara is currently away in Cincinnati..her first real trip without Mommy. It's such a good feeling for me to have the family and friends I have who love my daughter and allow her to be apart of so many different things! She seems to be enjoying herself up north, especially since she's been able to play in some of the leftover snow they had.

Here's a picture of Cara that Meg took today, to document her first big girl trip. And one of Sammy, cause she's just so stinkin cute!

A New Year with a Family of Four!

It's New Year's Eve and I'm awake, it's right before 7 AM. I like to get up before the family and get all the things done that I can't when the kiddies are occupying my attention. It will be 2010 tomorrow and I have a few hopes for the new year.

1. Settle in to a new house!
2. Potty train Cara.
3. Continue to have a happy and healthy family!
4. Do more for my community.
5. Teach Cara her colors.
6. Assist Samantha in all of her first year milestones.
7. Lose the baby fat.
8. Hope my husband travels less!!

More will come...but those are on the top of my list right now. I love having a family of four and would also like to keep it at four for the year of 2010.

I have added some pics from Christmas. We were all very spoiled but so grateful for all that our family and friends gave to us. Cara could barely walk in her room when we got all of her presents up there. She got some great stuff and was very pleased with Santa. Maybe next year she won't be so scared of the guy! Sammy is set for the next 6 months with some great toys and activities. Can't wait for her to start crawling around, so she can play with her big sister. All in all, Christmas reminded me how blessed Chris and I are!

Happy New Year!

Enjoy!

The best time of the year!

Happy Holidays!

I am so blessed to share the holiday season with my two sweet little girls. I have one who is completely petrified of Santa, but really wants him to bring her candy. And I have another who has no idea what is going on, but looks super cute in all of her holiday bows and outfits! Kids are so much fun to dress up! Even more so during the Holidays!

Tomorrow, Samantha is 2 months old. We will ALL be joining her for shots tomorrow. Cara has to get her flu boosters and I have to get my H1N1, now that it has become available. We should be a nice, cranky family tomorrow.

This past weekend, we made it down to the Kennesaw Santa Parade. It was cold, but we braved the weather and thankfully we did, cause it was such a wonderful experience. They had some awesome floats and threw candy at us! Cara didn't even know what to do with herself. People were literally throwing candy at her. She'd pick up the candy and thankfully for me her 2 year old hands can't pry open most wrappers, so she would run to me to open the candy. This gave me the opportunity to make sure everything tasted okay for her.

I have posted some seasonal photos, for all to enjoy! I will post with Sammy's progress and more Holiday photos as they occur!

Enjoy!

Welcome Samantha Francis Kenny!

Hey! I currently have two sleeping babies and instead of sleeping myself, I decided to update my blog so I could introduce Sammy Kenny to the blog world! I have enjoyed so much looking back on Cara's early months, as has she, and can't wait to document Sammy's. I hope blogs save forever so I can show them this when they get old.

Samantha Francis Kenny was born on October 15, 2009 at 8:05 PM. I have an entire family of libras and will most likely mess up the dates of their births at some point or another. Samantha was 7 lb. 11 oz. and 21 inches. But when we went for her 3 day check up, she was 7 lb. 4 oz. and 19 3/4 inches. For the baby book we will just record what the hospital declared. Ounces shmounces. We did NOT have a name for our new baby, the moment she arrived, mainly because my husband isn't a "planner", but Samantha was a front runner and when we saw her, it fit. Francis is Chris' Dad's middle name and we both felt that would be a good name to keep in the family. "Sammy" is my doing..Cara just says it too cute! So I have my two little baby bears and couldn't be happier to be home with them.

Sammy is adjusting well to our family. She hasn't quite gotten used to the smooshing, poking and kissing of her big sister, but she will!

I have posted most every pic I have on facebook, but will post some here too! I need to get some videos goin.

Enjoy!

Bungee Jumping

Fall is HERE!

This is my most favorite time of year! Going outside and feeling 70 degree weather just makes me happy!

Happy birthday to Chris and my Dad!!

Cara is going to be 2 in FIVE days!! This morning we called Daddy to sing Happy Birthday to him and when we hung up she said "Cara's birthday". I'd say she's a little bit excited about it. We are having a party at the park, and let's cross our fingers this rainy weather in GA will let up. Cara seems to be right on track for a two year old. She is forming sentences, sometimes 4 and 5 word sentences, and has even started to understand when I say "no" I mean "no". She now responds with "k" and most of the time continues what she's doing, but I'm excited she's acknowledging the word "no", it's progress. Her favorite programming is the good night show on Sprout, and she gets to watch a little before she heads to bed. We have submitted a birthday card that we're hoping they will put on the good night show on her birthday, so if you remember to catch Sprout that night, you might see little Cara bear. Cara is also slightly obsessed with Halloween. Probably a little of my doing, but it makes going to the store really exciting cause we get to go through the Halloween section. We went to a pumpkin festival this past weekend, that I have some pictures from. Cara also did some bungee jumping at the fair this past weekend that I'm going to try and post a video of. It is soooo funny to see!

As for baby #2, still hanging out! By hanging out I mean stuffed inside me, constantly trying to stretch and laying on my lower spine! I'm officially uncomfortably pregnant, but trying to enjoy my last couple of weeks of having one child. And a little bit of sleep. I'm down to weekly doctor appointments and not working anymore, so Cara gets to join me and listen to the baby's heart beat. She seems pretty excited about it..but we'll see when we bring that little bundle home. I think she will prove to be a great big sister though, I'm excited!

Okay now for the media updates..enjoy!!
