slow and steady wins the race...
This post is dedicated to my big one year old, Samantha Francis. We had a very busy weekend last week, and Sammy's birthday party was thrown in the mix of things..but it was a great time! She got to eat her second sugary, sweet cupcake (the first being the weekend before) and loved every second of it, sucking it right through her teeth. She got tons of great new toys and cute outfits, and we are so very blessed to have an abundance of love and genorosity from our friends and family.
The Stats:
Weight - 20 lb. 4 oz - We broke 20 pounds, wooooo hooooo!
Height - Don't have the exact measurement, but I remember it being in the 85th percentile. Weight was my only concern!
Her growth is right along the line she started at birth and that is great news. She's a little more quiet than her sister, but like her Gigi said, "she will talk when she's good and ready". She's started to stand on her own and it's so cute cause I'll hold her and say "walk" and she plops down, crawls over and gives me a big smile. I'm starting to think she's milking the whole "mom carries me everywhere I need to go" bit. Lol. And that's fine! She can be my little cuddlebug forever!
She's had much fun being one. Celebrated in St. Simon's last weekend and went to Hillcrest Orchards this weekend in Ellijay. Who knows what next weekend will bring?!?!

Birthday Season!!
I'm playing a little catch up here after a few hectic weeks!
Chris turned 27 on October 6th and my Dad hit the big 55. Apparently he doesn't qualify for grocery store discounts yet, so really 55 is not that important, lol. 27 is also a pretty uneventful year, so we celebrated with yummy food and sweets.
My Mom also turned the big 55 on the 19th! And what a great 55 years it's been!
My babies had their birthdays. It's surreal every year to see them get older, and they aren't even old yet. I will be a mess by the time they hit teen years! I'm going to dedicate most of this post to Cara's 3rd birthday party. My Mom captured some great pictures.
I organized a Halloween themed birthday party for her and it was so exciting. All the excitement of Halloween shopping for the party has made me feel like we already had Halloween and I continue to be surprised when I go into stores and see the decor still hanging. Last year I decided I really wanted to do it this way, and glad I tried it once. Probably won't do it again until she's older though. Kids wear A LOT of glitter in their costumes!
We had a blast though! The attendees were very spirited and Cara seemed to really enjoy all the fun had. We had yummy Halloween treats, a witch cupcake craft, a pumpkin pinata and a jumpoleen set up for the kids.

Cinci-maddy, no more...
As the days go by, and my children continue to grow and blossom, they learn more and more and astonish me sometimes with the things that they do and say. Cara last year declared, "we're goin to cincimaddy". Now she knows, it's "Cincinnati". I find myself still wanting to hear the old, cute way she use to say it. I remember this feeling when she learned it was "elmo" not "melmo". These must be the "growing pains" us parents feel.
We traveled this past Labor Day weekend to Cincinnati, OH for a fun-filled getaway to the north. The weather didn't go above 80 degrees, and it was a wonderful taste of fall to come.
The girls and I went up Thursday with my Mom. Sam and Cara were very good travelers. We visited with the family, met Noah for the first time, and Grandma, Patty and Susan joined me for a late night viewing of Jersey Shore. Watching it with my elders, made me embarrassed for my generation.
Friday, Megan, Noah, Mary, myself and the girls went to the Cincinnati Zoo. It was great! The animals were out and the weather was perfect. The Cincinnati Zoo blew me away with it's gardens and foliage. I was in awe of how pretty it was. I always remembered the zoo as a place of unpleasant smells and horrific heat, assuming I must have gone in the summers. But this time was a great visit, and all the children seemed to enjoy it. Noah didn't make a peep the entire time! We later joined my Mom, Julie and Grandma for lunch at Frisch's and that evening Cara and I traveled to Dayton, OH to pick up Chris from the airport. Cara and I get a real kick out of picking up Chris from the airport!

Saturday was Val's second bridal shower put on by Megan and Julie. It was done wonderfully! Later that afternoon was the Family Reunion at Queen City Park and Rec, where we visited and caught up with all the Sammons and Hubers. Cara had a blast playing in the pool and Sammy stuck with me, since she doesn't appear to be as social as her older sister. That night we went to a festival where Cara rode rides with her Daddy and Mommy lost her money gambling!
Sunday was a lot of fun! We visited the Natural History Museum downtown. They had a children's museum inside and the girls had a blast. It was similar to Atlanta's Imagine It, but had more stuff for Sammy's age. The girls didn't want to leave! Later that day we surprised Chuck with a 30th birthday celebration and that evening we hung with family!
It was a great weekend!

Chris and I celebrate 2 years of marriage, Fall arrives!, Football season starts, Cara's Costume Birthday party, Sammy turns the big ONE, Family Vacation, Val gets married, and Halloween. Can NOT wait!! More pictures from this weekend coming soon!

TEAM SHERER
As we know, there's another wedding this year! Just had Val's first shower, and she seemed very pleased with how it all came together. The theme was perfect for the sports loving bride! I have a few pics to share. Two are to prove that I went blond and the other two are to convince ya'll that my Mom and I should go into the cupcake business!
