The southern heat is upon us! But tonight carried such a wonderful breeze! Chris, Cara, Sam and I have taken full advantage of the amenities our new neigborhood has to offer. My favorite thing is the nature trail. I love watching Chris be a dad, especially when he's in his element. Outside is his element. Nature, bugs, rocks, dirt...all him. So him and Cara have started taking walks through the nature trail. Mostly it's just the two of them. Tonight they let us join. She loves her Dad so much! They have their "thing" and I'm so happy to witness that. I am also so happy I don't have to do those nature walks a lot. I think Sam and I walked into three spider webs!
What else is new? Cara hit the "why" stage. Example: Cara, careful with that cup. Why? Cause you will get wet if you spill it. Why? Cause it's water and that's what it does. Why?
We could play the "why" game all day. I find myself trying to answer every why, but also find myslef doing the "because I said so" bit a lot. I am officially a parent!
Samantha's getting bigger. Rolling around, pulling up on her knees, trying to clap! Everyone thinks she's my quiet one. I'm convinced I will have no such thing!
Sam's reflux is back and forth. We have good weeks and bad weeks. But we will most likely seek a specialist. I will update when we get there. She has her two bottom teeth which popped up at 4 months and just cut her two front teeth at 6.5 months.
We just celebrated Mother's Day and I truly felt blessed to be a mother (2x) to the best children I could ask for. My eldest is peculiar, intelligent, stubborn, creative, curious and hillarious. My youngest is soft, moody, affectionate and beautiful. They complete me! Proud to be a Mommy to those two!

You're my best!
We have had some BIG changes in our lives here recently. I for starters, have started a new year of my life. 27. Hoping it will be a good year (same number as my wedding date!)
We bought a new home :) Love LOVE all the new space. More to clean, yes, but more oxygen of my own. It's a refreshing change that I'm pretty excited about. We've had the normal new homeowner issues. Broken toilet, leaking fridge, etc. These are to be expected though right? Murphy's law.
Cara and Samantha were baptized Saturday. They did incredibly well, much better than I expected, and I am still overwhelmed with all the love and support from our family and friends. I'm reminded by these events how much I really appreciate the people we are fortunate to share our lives with. We are now all members of St. Ann's and my number one goal is to start getting to church more. It was really neat to baptize my children at the church I had my First Communion and Confirmation. Cara was a little bit concerned when Sammy went first and the Priest was soaking her face with water. She let her Daddy (and the rest of the church) know that "Sammy's getting all wet". Then after Cara was baptized she rejoiced by saying "I did it Daddy!". This induced a little chuckle from all the attendants. I sort of had a feeling that Cara would make a production out of it! They were great though! It was a very joyous and special day for our family!
Cara turned 2.5 today and Sammy will be 6 months on tax day. I will update with the latest after her doctor's appointment that I plan to schedule at the beginning of next week. The reflux doesn't seem to be improving with age like the Doctor had predicted so I need to see what our next step is. Samantha had her two bottom teeth cut through last week so that was exciting. She's also polished rolling from tummy to back. She's now working on the back to tummy roll. It usually turns into a foot chewing session. She's getting so big though!!
What's next?? Well, we will continue to get settled in the new home. We have a wedding in June for our good friends Chris and Amber. Val got engaged a couple of weeks ago and her and Mike will marry October 17th in St. Simon's on the beach! We are looking to visit some of our favorite Cinci folks at the end of this month. Heading to VA in July for Grandpa Jack's 80th! Whew, this is making me a little tired. More I'm sure will add to the list, but I'm excited for the Spring and Summer to arrive. Cara, Samantha and I will become very close with the neigborhood pool!!

Comparing the stats..
Okay these stats are about 10 days off, but close enough.
Cara: 4 mos old
26" long
14.10 lb.
16 1/2 head circum.
Samantha: 4 mos old
25" long
13.10 lb.
16 3/4 head circum.
Cara was above 75% on all of her stats. Samantha is in the 30th percentile in weight, average on head and about 60th percentile in height. The ten days might be making a bigger difference than I would think, since they are babies and grow like weeds.
Both got healthy checks at their 4 month appointments, so let's just be grateful for that!!
Here are both my girls at 4 months old. I must say..whatever percentiles they are in, they are both beautiful babies!

Come out, come out, wherever you are!
Hide and Seek has become a very popular game amongst my household (Cara). That and memory. The other day, Cara recruited her daddy to play hide and seek with her and after witnessing her hiding spots, I had to grab my camera. Cara not only hides in THE most obvious places, she also covers HER eyes while she's hiding. She's using the old "if I can't see you, you can't see me" tactic. It's hysterical to watch! I also captured Chris hiding..it's obvious where Cara gets her skill.
We had a snow day a week or so ago and Cara LOVED it. She was such a natural. Sammy..well she just took in the scenery.
I take Sammy for her 4 month shots Friday and well check up. Can't wait to see how big she's getting! Can't believe she's already 4 months. I'm psyched to have her start walking and be able to keep up with Cara.
I'm also looking to start Cara in some gymnastics classes. I think she will LOVE tumbling around. I also want her to try dance and ice skating! Of course, we will let her decide what she enjoys doing..but it can't hurt to nudge her a little!! I just want to see her in a cute little leotard dancing around, on ground or ice. I also should admit, the ice skating has sort of surface watching the olympics. They look so amazing!
That's about it for the Kenny clan. Chris and I get away next weekend for a wedding at St. Simon's Island and we hopefully purchase a house in March!

Itsy Bitsy Spider..
Hello! I yawn as I begin this post. It's dark and rainy outside and not helping with my energy level.
Cara is currently playing with blocks, which are meant for Sammy when she gets a little older, and is having a lot of fun with them. These blocks, designed for 6+ months, have kept Cara's attention better than any toy I've given her in the last year. Cara has never been a fan of "her" toys. Although, she has found a lot of fun in the game Memory. It's a little old for her, but playing it will definetly in my opinion help with a LOT of things we are trying to work on. She has to learn to take turns, be patient and of course it helps with her memory. Also worth mentioning, Cara went potty on the big girl potty yesterday. She has sat on it a number of times and just jumps up saying I'm done, but we are really starting the potty training and sitting on the potty around every diaper change, and yesterday she went! She was so proud of her number 1 (not sure how I'm gonna deal with anything but number 1's, lol), and we were so proud of her too! Next week we are going to go to the store and pick out big girl panties so she can get excited about wearing them. She's getting so big!
Samantha is having a little bout with egzema (sp?) and poor thing, it's right on her face! I am wondering if it itches and is creating some of this added fussiness lately. We are treating it with a non steroid cream for now, but if that doesn't work, we will have to use a steroid cream. I'm hoping we can knock it out without it. Her and Cara both struggle with egzema and I have no clue where they get it from. I use sensitive EVERYTHING! They are just my fragile little babies!
Tonight, both girls are traveling to Gigi and Perry's house for a spend the night. Cara is SO excited and even told me that she was going to go by herself. I said, "no, you are gonna take Sammy and be her big sister" and she responded with, "no, I go by myself". Looks like someone enjoys being the center of attention, lol! Wonder where she gets that?
