Rylee Aspen

This past Sunday we went and visited the Bright family and their new addition to the world, Rylee Aspen. She was sweet as can be! Made Chris and I both miss the infant stage...until she was hungry, LOL. But in all seriousness, I miss holding a little one, so I am thankful all my friends are having babies! July can't come soon enough!

the little gymnast

Tis' the summer of socialization! We have made it a point to get Cara and Sam more involved in social activities, because I do stay at home with them and they can tend to get a little deprived of child stimulation. Sure they have each other, but it's nice for them to get to know other kids, other personalities. And they really only have adult friends, so I've started weekly meet ups, and Cara started a gymnastics class today. She was so cute! Very well behaved, a little shy even (I know, I couldn't believe it myself). She held her own in the level II course, and hopefully will get to move on with the group, cause her new best friend Emmy is in it. I attached a couple of pics from today, very blurry cause we sat up in a booth to watch them, but you can see my cute little gymnast. And little sister Sam was her number one fan! She sat at the glass clapping for her big sister.

Enjoy!

heat waves and play dates

Whoops, looks like I have neglected my blog in the last month! Currently, the girls are resting and I am hiding from the 90+ weather, inside my house in the AC. It's the second week of May and reaching mid-high 90's. I am not too sure I like this! The pool needs to open pronto!

CONGRATS to the Brights! They welcomed baby Rylee Aspen into the world yesterday, May 11th and she is such a beauty. Can't wait to meet her!

Bad news as hit GA this past month. We will lose the Sherbert's to Colorado by the end of summer. It hasn't really hit me yet, I think I'm still in denial, but I know the day they are gone, an emptiness will be there. We are going to miss them SO much and I haven't even begun to explain to Cara that Cali will be 1700 miles away. Not sure I'm ready to break her heart yet :( We'll make it work though, so that we can still "see" them every week.

So last I updated we had gone to Nashville. Since then it's been pretty low key. Both girls have reached a 1/2 on their age. I remember being a kid and that was a huge deal..I wasn't 4, I was 4 and a HALF. Not sure what the rush was, lol.

Cara has made a new friend who we've been going on play dates with. Her name is Emmy and she is also 3.5. The library has a great story time class for the girls that's FREE (which is probably MY favorite part). They read books, sing songs and play games. Pretty awesome because it's right before lunch and nap and the girls get out a bunch of energy. Here's a few pics...

Chris was home for a WHOLE week last week and off Wed-Fri, so we had some fun, quality time with Dad. It was Mother's Day last weekend and the girls and Chris were so good to me. Let me get my nails done and bought AND planted some beautiful hydrangea plants for me. I don't think I changed one diaper that day either, so it was a nice treat. We also went to an Ultimate Playdate in the Park last week and had a lot of fun. There was a stage and a big open field for the girls to run around on. A guy played music and they had some songs for the girls to participate in. We also took a nature walk and ate some honey suckles. Not sure that's even safe, but everyone survived, lol. Here's a pic of Chris chasing Sam...

Today we had another play date at Champion Kids, which is a gymnastics facility, and they have an open play time where the kids get to run around. It was a blast! Huge open rooms with bouncys, trampolines, foam pits, etc. The girls loved it! I signed Cara up for a gymnastics class throughout the rest of the summer for Tuesday's and they are going to work on tumbling and balance, BUT ALSO using manners and taking your turn. So I think Cara will benefit greatly, lol. Here are some pics from today...

Sam is growing like a weed and has hit the "baby" phase. She walks around with a baby tucked in her armpit and also points out Tina's baby bump when we're together. She's gonna be such a great best friend/possible girl friend to Tina's baby. I can't wait to let them all meet! Tina is due July 19th and we couldn't be more thrilled. Here is the latest pic of her bump with an already huge fan of the impending arrival...

Summer is almost officially here! Pool will open soon. Cara goes to Virginia Beach in June and has a dance class. We are going to Tellus Science Museum this weekend and possibly becoming members through the summer. We want to check out the dolphins at the aquarium and go to the zoo. And baby Klejka arrives in July! Bring it on summer!

Nashville...

This past weekend, the girls, Tina, Val, Cali, my mom and I all traveled to Nashville, TN to visit with Meg, the kids and Julie and catch up with our northern natives. We had a great time! The weather was less than desirable so we hung out in the hotel a lot and had some good quality time visiting. With 5 kids, it had it's moments of chaos, but all in all the kids did great and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

We had a mini birthday party for Julie Friday night. Everyone crashed early that night, and a few of us (room 412) were up at the crack of dawn (thank you Sam). Saturday, Tina, Val and I went into the city and did some touring. Saw Coyote Ugly and visited a Cherry Blossom Festival. It was rainy, so we didn't spend too much time out. Finally found Opryland and got some pretty pictures of the scenery. That night was awesome, but probably a biased opinion from someone who's husband surprised them at the hotel!! Chris was working in the area, so was able to swing by and caught us all off guard when he strolled into the hotel room! A very pleasant and welcome surprise! He joined us for dinner that night and then we all hung out at the hotel, while a few of the kiddies swam at the pool. Great visit! I'd love to go back to Nashville and stay at Opryland and see more of the city. Need to pick a weekend with better weather though.

It was fun to see Meg and Julie and see the babies who are all getting so big! Mary was all over the place, having a blast with Cara and Cali. Sam started to crawl around like Noah, and it was too cute! Look forward to the next visit!

March Madness...

It's mid-March and we've had quite the month thus far! Held a garage sale last weekend which was a pretty good success. Got rid of some junk during some spring closet cleaning. I feel so refreshed when the closets are cleaned and organized! Made room in Cara's to have her own space. Her closet is a walk in and at this phase of life she doesn't have enough clothes and shoes to fill it, so we turned it into her own little play room. Her dollhouse is in there and all things princess. That way the small things don't get consumed by her younger, curious sister.

This past week, Cara had her first trip to the dentist. She was VERY hesistant to go at first, but once there, she went back and did great. The hygenist LOVED her and the doctor said everything looks great. Cara actually loves brushing her teeth, so for now, things are going good. She also sucks her thumb, so I guess I need to start saving for braces early. It was sort of a surreal moment for me though, because I sat in the waiting room while she got her cleaning. It was like she was all grown up! My heart didn't like it....

This past weekend, Daddy was home and we spent some much needed family time. Saturday was Princess Day at the Georgia Aquarium and sooo exciting. I must admit, I had a hard time sleeping the night before because of my excitement. For me, I just love being able to allow my kids to be apart of something that makes them so happy. All the princess movies we watch, the more and more I come to like them. They all share a positive message in some shape or form, and I like to think my daughter will take away some important lessons from their stories. "Princess and the Frog" was the basis of the aquarium day. Cara and Chris went to a class to start off the day where they learned about the frog cycle, did some crafts and got to hang out with Tiana, the princess from the movie. What else could a three year old ask for?! A day with her family and friends, dressed in a ball gown and tiara, learning about animals and our environment, all while hanging out with royalty. She was a little under the weather, which got worse by the end of the weekend, but she still had a wonderful time. And Sammy was in her element! I said this before, in a post this past summer, but she really gravitates towards the fish and all the big tanks. She seems so calm and happy while at the aquarium. It was such a great day, and even better shared with people we love!

Baby Klejka is coming along, Tina is in her 22nd week. Over halfway there and we are all sooooo excited about the July arrival. Can't wait to get some 30 week belly shots!

In less than two weeks, myself, the girls, Val, Cali, Tina and my Mom will be meeting Meg, the kids and Julie in Nasvhille for a little catch-up weekend. Really looking forward to that! And then there's April! Tina's baby shower, Easter and my birthday. 28 years of life this year! Let's celebrate!!

Little Miss Princess

Took my little princess to see Tangled this weekend with Val. It was our first movie theater experience together, and will probably remain with me for a very long time. She seemed so grown up sitting in her chair, holding her Icee. This whole growing up thing really does happen fast! Learned that 3D isn't her thing though, apparently "things are way to close" with the glasses on. Never have been a fan myself!
