Closing the Kindergarten Chapter...

I need to post this somewhere so that I can have it in one place. Last year at the end of Pre K, I started a little tradition where I put Cara in the same outfit for her first and last day of school, so you could literally see how much she grew. Genius, I know. I really hope through the years she will allow me to continue this tradition.

Spring Things

I know - I'm the worst at this blog thing. But what matters is that eventually, I update it. Last weekend, we were at a birthday party for our friends daughter and ran into a woman who reads my blog. She's the grandmother of a friend of the Kenny's. I mean, I had no idea anyone but my close family read this. So I was inspired to update the first quarter of 2014. It's been a busy year. I went full time with my job in November, so that threw a wrench into all the fun stay home mom activities, but I'm trying!

2013:

Christmas, as usual, was fantastic. We did the Blue Ridge train ride with Santa in early December and spent the weekend there with the Klejka's. Aside from a quick Urgent Care visit thanks to a fishing lure jumping into Sam's finger, it was pretty great. I love the mountains!

Christmas Day was full of family and fun. Sam got a new "kini" and Cara got her Kindle fire she wanted. I'm so blessed to have these two babies!

Christmas Day we traveled to Denver. We surprised the Sherer's after making them think we were coming a day later. I haven't missed a Christmas day with my sister, and I don't intend to :)

Spent the week after Christmas in Breckenridge, CO playing in the snow. It was beautiful. The most snow my children and myself have ever seen.

2014 - January:

January started with an eventful Snowpocalypse in Atlanta. Thanks to misjudged timings and poor city planning, everyone in and around the city of Atlanta got stuck on the roads during a snow storm. I happened to be downtown for a Sales kick off meeting at work, and was unable to get Cara from school. In turn, my dad and Sam spent 9 hours traveling 14 miles and ended up camping out at a Kennesaw Elementary teacher's house. It was quite an experience. I left the conference early and rushed home to enjoy some snow time with the girls. Once we thawed out - Sam and I got back to normal. Coffee, Target and Pedis.

We said goodbye to Grandpa Jack this year :( He passed with my Dad and Grandma by his side. Steph, Ryan and I joined Mom and Dad in VA for a weekend to celebrate Grandpa's life. It's never a good way to get together, but glad we were able to see everyone and catch up. Took the photo below on our way out there; right before experiencing terrible turbulence causing Steph to go into a full panic. It was pretty awesome and one of my favorite memories of the trip.

Cara got her cast off!

My little Sam, my baby, started preschool. I put it off and put it off, but finally did it. She goes a couple of times a week (when she goes) and seems to really enjoy it. It's been a much easier transition for her than it was for Cara. I'm hoping August has the same result!

The girls playing hair salon with daddy...

February 2014:

I am so lucky to have these two adorable Valentine's every year.

We went to the weirdest circus ever this year for V Day with the Klejka's. It was literally the weirdest thing I'd ever experienced. The girls loved it though!

My beautiful roses!

Festive!

Cara had her first Art Fair. Art is her favorite extra curricular activity. I'd say she's pretty good at it :)

Cara also lost her first tooth this year, quickly followed by losing 3 more!

She also had her first school dance. This is really hard for me to watch her grow up so quickly. The boy to her left is her "boyfriend". At least that day he was. He knows multiplication, so I approve.

Tina turned 31! We went out for a steak dinner and stayed at the Intercontinental in Buckhead. It was pretty awesome. 30's are cool, because you can afford to do things you couldn't in your 20's :)

March 2014:

I like to keep our weekends full, now that I work (at home) all week. Chris is opposite. He travels all week, so he likes to be home. Some times we compromise with family bowling.

But mostly, I visit with my Klejka babies on the weekends :)

Cara's other boyfriend, Oogie, at his baseball game. Yes, she's wearing biker gloves. Yes, I told her not to.

Sam went on Spring Break with my parents and Ryan to the beach and she couldn't have been more excited!

We celebrated a friends birthday at Montana's the night before they left.

Cara and I enjoy touch a truck while Sam was gone with the Klejka's and Neal's.

Boy, was I glad Sam came home.

I get lucky and get to watch my Klejka babies about once a month. It gives me so much joy to have all these kids together! I mean, I need a couple of drinks afterwards, but I love it.

My kitty cat before she turns the big 1!

The girls' first professional photo shoot. I couldn't resist the live bunny and chicks.

Cara's picture reminded me of Chris so much that I had to put them together...

We ended the month of March with a trip to Fla to meet Bethanny Hamilton, Sammy's idol. It was one of the greatest joys as a parent to support my child in something she loves. We got to visit the beach, eat crab legs and enjoy some quality time with my Mom as well. An unforgettable trip!

April 2014:

Kate turned 1!

I turned 31 but that wasn't photo worthy.

Easter 2014:

The siblings all joined together in Denver for Lucas' 2nd birthday and Hanna's dedication. Great trip with great memories!

May 2014 (So far...)

One minute you're dressing up in  mom's clothes...

The next, you're in the hospital getting surgery on a broken elbow from falling off your bike :( Yes we have broken bone number 2 for Cara. Such an awful experience. My poor baby was so brave and tough though! She's so tough, in school, she won the Character award for Courage in her grade. She was one of 4 students in her class recognized for Character. Sorry, had to brag! Pictures below make me frown :(

Last weekend we celebrated, well, ME! Mother's day was wonderful and my best friend got me gorgeous roses.

This past week I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale for work and had one of the best desserts of my life.

Okay, now you guys are up to date. I'll post more when I get all the wedding pics from last nights wedding. Mal and Kyle were a stunning couple and the night was perfect! More details to come!
