sugar and spice, and everything nice...

My girls are growing up so fast! It really puts it into perspective when your best friend has an infant! They like to keep busy, so I've become very involved with finding free/cheap activities in the area to do. Today we tested the waters on something. Something I thought would be stressful and too expensive, but turned out to be perfect and very affordable. The girls got pedicures! I foresaw this as a disaster..Sam running around, swallowing acetone; Cara rolling around on chairs knocking into people's polished toe nails. But they were great! They were sugar and spice, and everything nice today. Both of em sat perfectly still. Sam was actually humorously still. Cara's friend Emmy joined us, and we just had such a great time.

The pictures will tell you everything! Enjoy!

It's a Boy!

The day has finally arrived! I have waited so incredibly long to meet my best friend's baby. Yeah, the typical nine months, but also the many years we fantasized about our children growing up together. And the years before that when Tina longed to be a mommy.

Matthew James Klejka was born July 6, 2011 at 10:31 PM. He was born 8 lb. 6 oz. and measured 20.5 inches long. A beautiful, perfect baby boy.

Christina did such a great job bringing him into this world! I was so proud of her!

Now for the important information. Matt's nickname from me will be Matty J. I will probably just call him this until he's of tween years and at that age he will begin courting my daughter Samantha. I will probably call him Matt at this point. Maybe Matthew when I want him to know I'm serious about him marrying my daughter. Once they get through college, Sam and Matt (high school sweethearts) will marry. At this point Christina and I will officially be related! We may have had to wait 40 years, but it will happen.

Now I'm gonna brag about my sweet, adorable, precious son in law to be through some photos! Enjoy!

So long Sherer's!

As I posted previously, Val, Mike and Cali decided to move to Colorado. They made the big move June 24, 2011. It was a hard reality to see them go. I have taken for granted for so long having all of my immediate family close by. I could visit them on their birthday's, see them for dinners, go shopping, etc. So it's been tough realizing that a few of our parts are across the country. :(

We had a big going away party for them the week before. My mom did a fabulous job, as always, setting up a great place for friends and family to say goodbye at. Such a great turnout of guests! That was party one..

Then we had a girls night in Val's honor. One last girl's night goodbye filled with apps and drinks hosted by Tina. A great host and a great night with laughter and fun memories. That was party two..

Finally the night before their departure we had a "clean out the freezer" party at the Sherer's. Mike grilled a bunch of yummy food up and the immediate family came together for a final goodbye. Techinically party number three...

Party three it hit me that it was really happening. Sad day.

Thankfully to skype, I still get to see Val and Cali almost daily. And thankfully for them finding a rental later than expected, I get to see the both of them this month! I'm sure that's when we'll have party number four.

My going away gift to Val. A little something to let her know that our families will always be together, no matter where we are.

The Gale ladies:

I'm a horrible blogging updater!

I apologize for my lack of updates as of late. It's just that it's summer time and we've been busy enjoying ourselves. I think the only real thing I missed in June was the family trip (that Sam and I did NOT attend) to Virginia Beach. They had a blast! Loved where they stayed, got lots of sun and time on the beach and enjoyed the company of each other. I heard many stories via a 3 year old, and still hear how she lost her voice in Virginia Beach and will have to soon return to get it back. Kids and their imaginations.

Sam and I had a fun week that week as well. Daddy was home half of the week and we got to enjoy lots of extra time with him. Sam, without Cara, turned out to be a very calm and relaxed child! Have no fear, all has returned to craziness as usual.

I am now going to update about the BIG things happening in our life! Enjoy!
