Cara goes to the ER

I've received three calls this year from Cara's school. Call one was the nurse because Cara didn't feel well. Call two was the nurse again because of an upset tummy. Call three was from the Principal. There are a few reasons for why the Principal would be calling you and I'd assume none of them are good. "Cara had an accident on the playground and we're afraid she may have broken her arm", came through the phone and my heart sank. Luckily, the call came about 20 minutes before I normally leave to pick her up so I was home and ready. Sam and I rushed to the school and for a second you would have thought the President was visiting. They ushered me in while crowds of teachers assisted. Once I found Cara, my sweet, brave girl broke down in tears. You could tell she was trying to hold it together, but once her mom showed up, she let it all out. It was kind of surreal. When I'm sick or hurt, to this day I feel the same relief when my mom shows up. It's surreal to think I'm that person to someone. Just another wonder of being a mother. After lots of waiting and doctors and X-rays, we had a confirmed broken arm. Cara couldn't just kinda break her arm, she had to break both bones all the way through. It was a long day followed by a long night, but she was so tough! I was amazed. Thankfully Chris was in town ad was able to be there. Cara picked out a pretty red cast - her favorite color and red for Christmas. The thing about kids, is nothing slows them down. The next day she was bouncing off the walls per usual. We actually have to keep reminding her to take it easy. My, how life changes. Don't worry, Momarazzi captured every step of the way for your viewing pleasure.
