Back to reality...

Our week at the beach has ended, and we're less than two weeks before school starts. I must figure out how to switch my gears from enjoying my days of sun in front of the ocean to kindergarten school supplies and waking up early. Eh, I'll work on it next week! Here are more pictures from our wonderful stay in Garden City. So grateful to Perry and Paula for allowing us the opportunity for a place to create lasting memories!

Garden City Beach suits us!

Beach Vacation V.2

We have been fortunate enough this summer to have not just one, but TWO beach trips. We are currently relaxing on our second one. Girls are snoozing, daddy's watching TV and I'm updating my blog as I listen to the waves. Ahhhh...

We are in Garden City Beach staying at the Wigley's beautiful two bedroom ocean front condo. The amenities are perfect, the weather is great and the family is happy! Yay for summer!

Here are some initial photos of our trip:

Sammy's First Ballet Class

Last year I attempted to put Sam into ballet, but she wasn't quite ready to be on her own. So this summer I registered her for intro to ballet as part of the city's summer camps series. I knew it'd be more informal and relaxed, plus my neighbor was enrolling her daughter, so I felt it was a good way to introduce her. She's gone three weeks and done phenomenal. I mean I'm not sure how her ballet is, but she hasn't cried, acted out, wanted mommy or anything. She listens and follows the teacher and looks ever-so-chic in doing so!

My little ballerina, Samantha.

No fireworks for us :(

Rain spoiled our entire July 4th holiday! Chris had off the 5th, we had a fireworks show planned, a boat rented to spend the day on the lake, and a nice cool pool to relax by, but thanks to 4 straight days of rain, none of that happened. We made the best of it though and still rocked our red, white and blue! Spent the 4th with some old friends and although we didn't see fireworks, the girls got a whole pool to themselves to play in, in the rain. I think I was the most upset we didn't see fireworks. Fortunately for me, the firework lover, they are rescheduled. Yay!

Summer days...

I update this as we approach the 3rd of July, meaning it's almost the 4th of July, meaning summer is on it's final stretch. So nuts to think Cara graduated Pre-K almost two months ago and in a month she'll start Kindergarten.

We LOVE the 4th of July over here at the Kenny's and for the last 5 years have gone to downtown Kennesaw for their celebration the day before. Thanks to Mother Nature, impending rain has already postponed the events. Fingers crossed we're able to squeeze in a peep of fireworks the next night. Rain is in the forecast all week...blah. It also affects our pooling, and we love to pool! Aside from our wonderful vacation in June, the pool has been our main source of summer entertainment. A movie here, a play date there, pooling in between and of course ice cream dates round out our 2013 summer.

Braves

For my first, and most likely only Braves game of the season, I joined my new work family for a little team building. I brought Val along, and we had a kid free night accompanied by some food, drinks, AC and friends. Loving the j-o-b.

Daddy's home!

After 21 days in New Mexico, we finally got Chris back! It was a happy day!

Myrtle Beach '13

I was cleaning my room tonight, and came across a small suitcase that may or may not have had vacation clothes still stuffed inside. Yes, it's been weeks. Yes, the clothes are clean. Yes, there is most likely sand inside. Yes, I plan on leaving them for our second beach vacation of the summer. I'd say that worked out perfectly.

Myrtle Beach with the family was a wonderful get away. We didn't make it to the beach last year, so it was a welcomed sight. Family was abundant. Kids were happy. Weather was cooperative. All in all, a great time had by all. Plenty of pictures to show for it too.
